Tia – Dallas, TX

tia

Story by Sundra “Sun” Smith

Tia attends a high school in Dallas, Texas.  She is our High Achiever this week due to her beautiful attitude, excellent attendance and outstanding perseverance.

Although all around her negative influences abound, she stays focused on her goals and has no problem being an outspoken, charismatic leader in her classes at her South Dallas school.

She was very excited to sit down with Afro Puffs and Ponytails and answer a few quick questions.

AP: Tia, I just want to know a few things. What are your major goals?

TIA: My goals in life are to go to college and become a PEDEATRIC SURGEON and operate in the respiratory system.

AP: Why would you like to achieve that goal?

TIA: I would like to achieve this goal because I love children and I have
always wanted children to have something to do with my career.

AP: Do you enjoy school?

TIA: Yes, I love school. I’m a very bright person and I love to learn.

AP: Do you have a hero or mentor?

TIA: Yes, my hero is my sister. I say this because she is very independent and takes her career very serious.  In fact, since she works a lot, a lot of times I go and volunteer at her job.

AP: What do you think about Barack Obama?

TIA: Wow!!! I love Barack Obama. In fact, emotionally he has made a big
change in my life. He has made me look at life in a totally different way and I love him for that.

Congratulations Tia for being selected as our High Achiever of  the Week.  Continue to work hard, keep your grades and standards high, and believe that you are simply amazing…because you are!
