I am Gracious (Girls Reaching And Climbing In Obedience Unity Stability) is a non-profit organization, founded by Trista Ledet Ames. Its purpose is to encourage young girls between the ages of 12-18 years old from diverse backgrounds, regardless of size, shape, race or color; all while promoting self-esteem and self-confidence and building a strong foundation in God.

GOALS:

*To encourage positive emotional, mental & spiritual development.

*To positively transform how young girls perceive themselves.

*To convince young girls to accept and respect similarities and differences in one another.

Afro Puffs and Ponytails is constantly searching for information about camps, clubs and organizations, and mentoring programs to provide as resources for parents and community organizers. It is our hopes that each resource provided will serve to build confidence, enhance self esteem, develop leadership skills, empower, uplift and educate our African American girls. We are not recommending these programs, but offering a starting point for you to conduct your own evaluation and research about whether a program is right for your child.
