True Belles Mentoring Program for Girls – Dearborn Heights, MI

Due to the negative and unacceptable pressures that social media has placed before our young people, True Belles has made it their mission and focus to assist parents in the nurturing and raising of their little girls. As a community based organization, our goal is to recondition their minds by teaching them to be individuals that love, respect and accept themselves. We seek to be productive in the lives of girls so that they in turn become productive within their own lives and the lives of others.

Afro Puffs and Ponytails is constantly searching for information about camps, clubs and organizations, and mentoring programs to provide as resources for parents and community organizers. It is our hopes that each resource provided will serve to build confidence, enhance self esteem, develop leadership skills, empower, uplift and educate our African American girls. We are not recommending these programs, but offering a starting point for you to conduct your own evaluation and research about whether a program is right for your child.
